    David Langridge

    Councillor

David Langridge

My working life was involved with television broadcasting, specifically as a sound supervisor in independent television, ITN, TV Am and Channel 4. Also part of my many years in television involved working for independent companies and foreign broadcasters which took me to many parts of the world. These assignments dealt with varied broadcasts from sport, entertainment and current affairs.

I moved to Drimpton in 2006 from Sussex with my family and subsequently joined
Broadwindsor group Parish Council. We moved to Beaminster in 2012. I am an active member of St. Mary’s Church and have assisted the clergy and churchwardens with various installation projects.

I volunteer to help at the church community project Walk in Wednesday. I believe this is a valuable community experience open to all and has evolved to include young parents with their children as well as the elderly and disabled.

My interests are: architecture, modern and historic buildings; I am a member of the National Trust, gardening, nature and environment, I am an RHS member; heritage steam railways and current affairs.

One of the main reasons for being a Town Councillor is that there are many important issues in the community not least of all the quality of available affordable housing. with newer developments being proposed, this is an opportunity to combine good design that compliments and blends into the landscape and brings quality to all stages of life. Good local public transport is another major issue and I fully support all the work that the Town Council are doing to bring attention to this. Supporting our two good local schools should lead to the provision of local employment opportunities which I know is a high priority for the Town Council and I fully support this.
