Alan Dawkins

I have lived in Beaminster for over forty years, before that I lived in Farnham Surrey. I did anapprenticeship at 43 Command workshops R.E.M.E as a civilian and continued to work when the apprenticeship was complete until I moved to Beaminster.

I was working at ECC Quarries until they closed down then went to Brit Marine for two years. I then got a job at Westland and I was there for 33 years. I was a shop Steward for 25 years, a senior Health and Safety rep and was on the Works Committee as Senior Steward for 6 years. I then took early retirement.

We have 2 children and 3 stepchildren all went to both Beaminster schools. I have now been elected on to Beaminster Town Council and feel very proud to be a Member and hope to do my best for the people of Beaminster.
