Councillor Terry Beswarick
I have lived in Beaminster for 10 years. Before then I lived in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Whilst there I worked for the BBC Transmitter Capital Projects Department. I project managed the building of all forms of terrestrial transmitting stations from UHF colour to medium wave transmitters. I also was responsible for system design and management of Outside Broadcast radio cars, SHF radio links and facilities to protect staff in the event of nuclear warfare.
I designed and installed the original equipment system to convert VHF FM transmitters from mono to stereo.
I retired from the BBC in 1991. For 10 years I lectured at Colleges of Further Education in IT, Maths and Project Management.
I am a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institution of Engineering Technology.
I am new to local government and I am looking forward to learning all the different aspects and responsibiliites that come with being a Councillor. I hope that my past experience will be useful to the Council.
